Carrickfergus and Westmeath Companies work together to distribute 123mrp CRM software and provide dedicated all-island consultancy service.
Published on: Tuesday, 17 February 2009

QM Systems based in Carrickfergus, are the sole distributors in Ireland for the award winning 123mrp.NET Production & CRM Management System which is supplied to the manufacturing sector and was recognised in 2007/8 as the Best of British “Best Business Management” and “Best Overall I.T.” solution in the UK.

The highly successful software system is unique in that it is supplied on a Pay As You Go monthly rental business model without a contract or minimum tie-in period. This means that customers can acquire the product without spending the large capital sums previously associated with this type of purchase which makes it very attractive in today’s current climate. This applies especially to SME’s, who previously, could not afford to consider purchasing such a system, simply due to cost.

Drew McCoubrey, MD of QM Systems commented “we are the sole Irish distributor for the 123mrp.NET service and having established ourselves in the Northern Ireland market, we were looking to expand into the South but were unsure how to find a partner that complemented our service. It was in 2008 that I found out about the MicroTrade cross border networking events from kelli Bagchus of CarrickFergus Enterprise, and decided to attend to try and find out more about potential partners in the South. I attended the Big Event in the City North Hotel, Meath, and met Rory Walsh of CRS Devices Ltd. in Co. Westmeath.

On speaking to Rory, I learned that they were a company who provided business management and engineering consultancy to manufacturing companies which sounded exactly what we were looking for. We set up a meeting and very quickly a business partnership was formed where CRS Devices Ltd. promotes 123mrp.NET in the South and we promote CRS Devices Ltd. services in the North.”

“We have already gained our first customer, which happened within a matter of weeks of the ‘link-up’ taking place, and we believe this will be the first of many. We worked together to ensure that Powerserve Ltd, an Electrical and Telecom services company, based in Tullamore, Co.Offaly, fully benefited from our respective expertise”.

CRS Devices MD, Mr. Rory Walsh commented, “we provide a Management and Engineering consultancy service which can cover any area of the manufacturing process. On previous occasions we had been asked to write and develop management systems to support our consultancy business and often found we ran into problems as we were attempting to supply a product which was not a core part of our business but ultimately used up the majority of our resources. When I received the call from Drew McCoubrey about a possible business link up I was intrigued about the 123mrp.NET product due to the reported business benefits on offer”.

Rory continues “It sounded just what we were looking for in terms of complementing our consultancy business but I was somewhat sceptical of the claims of it being a high end service being offered on such a low cost base. On meeting with Drew McCoubrey and having viewed the capability of the software I recognised immediately the powerful features of the system and more importantly I recognised that it was exactly what we were looking for. Having been trained on the system I can readily recommend it to any manufacturing company as there is absolutely no risk associated with the agreement as companies can walk away at any time if it is not right for their business. That alone gives me full confidence in its credentials while permitting CRS to focus on their core consultancy business.  In that respect it has been a win-win situation for both companies”.

The working relationship between QM Systems and CRS will strengthen further as they look at accessing MicroTrade’s funding, training, & networking opportunities. In addition, Westmeath County Enterprise Board and Carrickfergus Enterprise also support the resepctive companies through their mentoring and training facilities. They fully expect to expand their client base on both sides of the border through their unique marketing approach where they highlight the service through regional monthly workshops, where they invite prospective customers to view for themselves what they have to offer in a joint 2.5 hour presentation.

As easy as 123 in fact!
